President took a strong decision during the iftar dinner at White House on Friday when he allowed building a mosque near ground zero. He described it as a religious freedom.
Obama was present with about 90 guests for the iftar dinner, the meal that Muslims take after dusk because of fast during the holy month of Ramadan. He said, “Muslims have the same right to practice their religion as everyone else in this country. That includes the right to build a place of worship and a community center on private property in Lower Manhattan, in accordance with local laws and ordinances."
