The Delhi government Monday released three of the six corridors of Delhi Metro Phase III and requested a detailed project report (DPR) on the three other Department of Transportation.

A government source said that three corridors – Mukundpur-Rajouri Garden, Central Secretariat-Red Fort-Jehangirpuri Badler – have been accepted at a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit.

Due to differences of opinion, three ways – including the two corridors of Sector 18 Noida in Uttar Pradesh in Janakpuri in west Delhi and Rajouri Garden in west Delhi Dhaula Kuan in south Delhi – have not been finalized. The Department of Transport was asked to leave with a detailed project report.

The third phase, at a proposed cost of Rs.2, 468 crore, is likely to be completed within five years and has almost 70 km long track.

Another government source said that after the lifting phase III of the plan would go to the group of cabinet ministers union which decides on funding for the construction of six roads.
