A dangerous gunman responsible for the death of two people this morning, was found dead around 2,20 p.m. The shooting was reported in the area of Westchester Drive and Whitemarsh Court, surrounding Tall Timbers. This area is a mix of townhouses, apartments and duplexes.
Three people resulted dead after a double homicide and a suicidal act in Little Egg Harbor today. The gunman, identified as Craig Mueller, 45 shot to death his brother, Bryan Mueller,52 and Kara Ellis, aged 21. It all happened at around 11 a.m., on Westchester Drive. According to police officials , both victims suffered multiple shots, as the attacker used an AR-15 assault rifle.
Craig Mueller shot his brother from a window of the house they shared. When Bryan Mueller fell down on the sidewalk, one of the neighbors, Kara Ellis came running to help him. Then, the shooter, killed the young woman in cold blood. After the double homicide, he turned the gun to himself and pulled the trigger.
“At this point it’s just a mystery. We’re as shocked at this as anyone else. It makes no sense,” said Ocean County Prosecutor Marlene Lynch Ford. Police blocked the roads and locked down schools in the area as they searched for the gunman.
According to official sources, there was no knowledge of any misunderstanding between the two brothers and neither of them knew Kara Ellis. ” She was a good Samaritan who was trying to run to the assistance of Bryan Mueller”, said Ford.
Police is still investigating the case, but told residents this late afternoon that they could return to their homes, as no one else seemed to be involved in the horrific incident. Read More
